Lucas Herrington Loses Ground as Barcelona Target Amid High Costs

Lucas Herrington, the 18-year-old Australian centre-back playing for Colorado Rapids, is reportedly losing traction as a transfer target for Barcelona. While previously monitored on several occasions, the club currently has no plans to make a move for the defender.

Barcelona has other priorities in the transfer market at the moment, though strengthening the central defense remains on the agenda of sporting director Deco. Other young defenders such as Neil Pierre from Philadelphia Union and Stephan Zagadou from Le Havre are also noted, but none are currently on the club’s close radar.

Although Herrington remains in Barcelona’s scouting scope, he is no longer among the club’s most advanced options for signings. The club continues to monitor the development of many young talents without imminent plans for significant youth signings.
