Gerard Piqué, former Barcelona defender, shared his views on Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid and the return of José Mourinho as the club’s manager.

Speaking at an event on Wednesday, Piqué admitted he wished Álvaro Arbeloa had stayed, saying, “I wanted Madrid to have done a little better this season, I wanted Álvaro Arbeloa to stay.” He highlighted Arbeloa’s contribution of entertainment and spirit, comparing it to legendary Juanito and the European Cups in Madrid-Levante matches.

Regarding Mourinho, Piqué commented that he “is a good candidate to talk about everything but football.” About Cucurella, he said, “I understand it because there are always personal interests. In this case, I wish Cucurella, on a personal level, that he has a good career, but he has signed for Real Madrid and you know what I think of that club.”
