On Sunday, June 21, Coma-ruga will pay tribute to Eduard Manchón, one of FC Barcelona's legendary players. At 7:00 PM, a sports court bearing Manchón’s name will be inaugurated. This initiative, led by the Penya Barcelonista of Coma-ruga and approved by the El Vendrell City Council, aims to preserve the memory of a key figure from the era of the 'Five Cups.'

For over 25 years, the town hosted the traditional Eduard Manchón Beach Soccer Tournament, which drew former Barça players, artists, singers, and actors. Manchón himself actively participated in the tournament until he was 78. Although the event ceased three years ago, the municipality decided to perpetuate his legacy by naming one of its sports courts after him.

The ceremony will include the presence of Manchón's family and former Barça players José Mari Bakero and Ramón Calderé. FC Barcelona will be represented by former player Rafael Zuviría. Speeches will be given by El Vendrell Mayor Kenneth Martínez, Manchón’s widow Roser Marigó, his granddaughter and TV presenter Aina Galduch, and Josep Maldonado, president of the Coma-ruga Penya.

The program features performances by cellist Nil Vinya, a demonstration by the Castellers of Foix de Cubelles, and musical entertainment from the Xaranga Xino-xano. The day will conclude with a charity futsal match between Coma-ruga Penya veterans and a historic combined team from El Vendrell. This event serves to honor Eduard Manchón's legacy and keep alive one of Barça’s most emblematic players’ memory.
