The Catalans are going through another difficult patch after the loss to Girona in La Liga.
Barcelona face plenty of questions following consecutive defeats — to Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey and to Girona in the league. Those losses put their defence of the Copa del Rey title at risk and have knocked them off the top of the Spanish table.
Bojan Krkic Sr, who previously worked for the club as a scout, analysed the game against Girona and told Cadena SER what he believes is missing. He said this Barça is not the same as last year: although they have important injured players, their style of play requires fast, skilful players to break opponents' lines and generate more chances.
He added that they must play quicker and more vertically, which is not happening now. The greatness of the team depends on rapid ball circulation, and without Pedri everything is more complicated. Despite creating clear chances, Barcelona are struggling to be effective.
In the match with Girona Barcelona certainly created enough chances to win: they had 27 shots during the 90 minutes but managed only one goal — a header from Pau Cubarsi.
