Former sports director and member of Joan Laporta’s presidential candidacy, Joan Soler, stated that FC Barcelona is prepared to make top-level signings during the upcoming summer transfer window and that the club’s sports structure will decide on these matters.
Soler mentioned that the club can afford players like Julián Álvarez or Erling Haaland, considering the five-year amortization of transfers and Barcelona’s financial readiness. However, he emphasized the need to be cautious about salary mass and to respect the club’s established financial limits.
He also explained that the club aims to retain young talents such as Lamine Yamal despite significant offers. For instance, Chelsea made an important offer for Fermín this summer, but the player did not want to leave, and Barcelona chose not to sell, as they do not want to be a selling club.
According to Soler, Barcelona also turned down a 250 million euro offer for Lamine, apparently from PSG.
