Barcelona has officially agreed to transfer Ansu Fati to Monaco for a purchase option fee of €11 million, established last summer when the player was initially loaned. The forward has already reached an agreement on personal terms with the French club for a four-year contract.

Although the transfer is considered complete, both clubs are finalizing additional details regarding a potential buy-back clause and a percentage of future sales. These negotiations explain why the official announcement has been delayed since the confirmation from both sides on June 1st that Monaco would exercise the option.

At 23 years old, Fati played 30 games and scored 12 goals for Monaco in the 2025/26 season. During his tenure with Barcelona, he appeared in 123 matches, netting 29 goals and providing 10 assists. The club believes Fati still has significant potential and expects him to continue his development in Ligue 1.

Barcelona keeps the door open for a potential return through the buy-back clause, maintaining some control over their prominent academy graduate’s future.

Fati also has 10 senior international caps, underscoring his standing in world football.
