Sama Nomoko is an 18-year-old attacking player for Barça Atlètic who drew attention from the coaching staff with his strong performances on the flank. During the first part of the season, he secured a starting spot, showing commendable speed and the ability to assist teammates effectively.
Initially expected to reinforce Juvenil A, the young player quickly became a regular for Barça Atlètic under Juliano Belletti’s management. In December 2025, during a Youth League match, he suffered a severe injury — a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, along with damage to both menisci.
The club's medical report estimated a one-year recovery period. Six months after surgery, the rehabilitation pace is positive: Sama is permitted to use the treadmill and train on an anti-gravity machine, as well as perform strength exercises.
He continues daily rehabilitation sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva, maintaining a strong work ethic. Sama described the injury as "a stone on the path," but remains positive about returning stronger. On Instagram he wrote, "Today is the first day of a new stage, but also one day closer to returning."
In the 2025/26 season, Sama played 14 matches for Barça Atlètic, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Coaches valued his ability to beat opponents on the right wing, despite being right-footed. Particular attention was given to the accuracy of his low crosses and his capacity to cover long distances at high intensity.
He earned the nickname 'Mamba', inspired by Kobe Bryant’s book "Mamba Mentality," which helped him prepare mentally for matches and also cope with the injury setback.
Currently, the prognosis for recovery is positive despite the extended absence. The coaching staff expects him to rejoin the squad in the next season.
Sama Nomoko remains focused on his rehabilitation and gradual return to football activities, demonstrating serious commitment and discipline in his work.
