Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has submitted a 500-page complaint to UEFA demanding penalties against FC Barcelona related to the Negreira case. He described it as "the biggest scandal in football history." These claims formed part of his election campaign and acted as a smokescreen following Barcelona’s league title and Real Madrid’s trophyless season.

Previously, during close cooperation with then-Barcelona president Joan Laporta, Pérez never made such claims, even regarding the Super League project. After his re-election as president "for eternity," he officially sent the complaint to UEFA.

Real Madrid hoped to sign Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid, but the club is not selling the player. Transfers for Olise from Munich and Vitinha from PSG also did not materialize. As a result, Pérez is leveraging the Negreira case to push for sporting sanctions and title revocations against Barcelona.

However, UEFA cannot act yet as the case is under judicial review in Spain. Additionally, there has not been a single witness statement in the investigation phase that confirms Barcelona manipulated match results through Negreira.

UEFA awaits the outcome of the Spanish court proceedings before taking any measures against Barcelona regarding this case.
