Barcelona remains active in the search for a new striker following difficulties in securing their primary target, Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid, due to the latter's firm stance.

Spanish media report that 23-year-old Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko, who moved to Manchester United last summer, has emerged as an alternative option. Sesko struggled to establish himself fully in the Premier League during his first season.

Sesko was reportedly on Barcelona’s radar before his transfer to Manchester United and is viewed as a potential long-term leader in attack alongside promising talents like Lamine Yamal and Anthony Gordon.

However, Manchester United appear unwilling to sell him this summer. With Michael Carrick recently appointed as permanent manager, he views Sesko as a key asset for both the present and future, and no offers will be entertained.

This situation complicates Barcelona’s plans as their options for Lewandowski's replacement continue to narrow. Should the club fail to acquire Álvarez, finding a suitable alternative becomes a significant challenge. Pressure mounts on sporting director Deco to finalize the signing of Álvarez.
