Liverpool has once again been linked with Barcelona defender Jules Koundé, and according to the Daily Mail the English club would be willing to offer about €80 million next summer. Koundé is 27 years old and is under contract with FC Barcelona until 2030; he arrived from Sevilla in 2022 for roughly €50 million plus €10 million in variables. English outlets have reported Liverpool’s interest at various points in 2023, 2024 and 2025, but never with the figure now cited by the Daily Mail.

Although Koundé came through as a centre-back, he has become established as a right-back for both Barcelona and the French national team, and he is considered a key player by Hansi Flick. Transfermarkt places his market value at about €65 million, while his release clause in a previous contract renewal was listed at €1,000 million. Barcelona would reportedly only consider selling him for a fee close to the €80 million mentioned.
