Barcelona is preparing for a significant summer transfer window, but to do so, the club needs to offload some players. Among those whose futures are uncertain is defender Jules Kounde.

According to Spanish media, Barcelona's sporting director Deco has frequently mentioned the 27-year-old defender during recent market discussions. Currently at the World Cup with France, Kounde continues to attract interest from clubs across Europe.

The 2025/26 season was disappointing for Kounde, who struggled to consistently perform at his best. Because of this, Barcelona no longer considers him non-transferable, and they will review any offers received during the summer.

Kounde is reportedly keen to stay at Barcelona, but the club will have the final say. If a good offer arrives, a sale could happen, and the club would then consider signing a right-back only after Kounde’s departure.

As of now, Kounde is expected to remain at Barcelona for at least another season, though the situation could evolve during the summer transfer window.
