Joan Laporta secured a decisive victory in the Barça presidential election with 32,934 votes, far ahead of rival Víctor Font’s 14,385. After the win, Laporta celebrated late into the night at the iconic Luz de Gas venue, with the club’s anthem and Queen’s "We Are the Champions" setting the mood.

Although Laporta will officially take office on July 1, he wasted no time and immediately began preparations. He will share decision-making responsibilities with current president Rafa Yuste, who remains as vice president in the new board. Together, they will oversee closing the current financial year and shaping next season’s squad.

Laporta plans to visit the club’s offices and the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground to support players and coach Hans Flick ahead of the pivotal Champions League match against Newcastle. He will also attend the game from the executive box, further cementing his presence.

Earlier in the week, Laporta will travel to Amsterdam to attend the premiere of a documentary about Barça legend Johan Cruyff, invited by Johan’s son Jordi. This event coincides with the tenth anniversary of Cruyff’s passing.

Laporta’s active involvement promises a dynamic leadership period aimed at stabilizing and strengthening Barcelona’s squad for the upcoming challenges.
