FC Barcelona is preparing to bolster their attacking line ahead of the summer transfer window. Although Robert Lewandowski’s contract expires at the end of the season and Joan Laporta has expressed interest in extending it, the club remains keen to bring in a new central striker.

Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, currently with Atletico Madrid and a 2022 World Cup winner, has been identified as the top target. Atletico, however, is reluctant to sell their key player for anything less than €150 million.

According to Que t’hi Jugues, Barcelona believes it can secure Alvarez for less than €100 million by offering a player in exchange. This swap arrangement might appeal to Atletico, who have shown interest in Olympique de Marseille’s Mason Greenwood.

While no agreement is finalized, discussions are ongoing, and Barcelona’s strategy to use a player trade could help them strengthen attack affordably, impacting both their squad and the broader transfer market.
