Barcelona continues its efforts to bolster the defensive line by prioritizing signing left-sided center-back Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan. Reports from Italy indicate that Bastoni's agents are already aware of Barcelona's wage offer, which significantly exceeds his current contract with Inter.

Bastoni renewed his contract with Inter in 2023, earning €5.5 million annually until 2028. Barcelona's proposed salary offer is notably higher — estimates suggest around €7 million or more. Simultaneously, Inter is preparing for the possibility of losing Bastoni by eyeing other defenders, such as Oumar Solet from Udinese.

Besides defensive reinforcements, Barcelona also prioritizes acquiring a striker to fill the '9' position. The talks with Bastoni reflect the club's serious intent to strengthen key positions and lay a solid foundation for the upcoming season. Barcelona center-back Pau Cubarsí mentioned in an interview that he knows Bastoni virtually and respects the high level of competition within the club's defensive ranks.
