Barcelona held talks with Jan Virgili’s agents on Monday to discuss transfer plans for the forward ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Spanish media, Virgili has been linked with a return to Barcelona this season, especially after Real Mallorca’s relegation. The club currently owns 40% of his rights and could purchase the remaining share for around €7.2 million.

Virgili is a versatile winger able to play on both flanks, making him a useful option for coach Hansi Flick. Barcelona has several paths under consideration. One option is to buy out his full rights and keep him in the first team, particularly with Roony Bardghji possibly going out on loan. Virgili himself admitted it would be “hard to say no” if Barcelona came calling.

The second scenario is to acquire the remaining rights and then either loan him out or sell for a profit. Virgili is currently valued at about €15 million, presenting a potential financial gain for Barcelona.

The club has yet to decide on the next step, but discussions are ongoing and multiple possibilities remain on the table.
