Marc Casadó has become the latest target of Saudi football. According to the portal 365Scores, the FC Barcelona midfielder is listed by the Saudi Arabian Investment Fund as a candidate to strengthen the Saudi Pro League in the upcoming transfer window starting June 30.

In Saudi Arabia, plans are underway to convince the player from San Pere de Vilamajor. A director from the Investment Fund will soon hold a meeting with Casadó's representatives to explore his willingness to make a move. This is not yet a formal offer, but a first contact to gauge the viability of the deal and see to what extent Casadó would be ready to relocate this summer to the Middle East.

Financially, the deal would be favorable for both Barça and the player. The Saudi fund intends to present Barcelona with an offer exceeding 40 million euros to try to convince the club to open negotiations. This figure would be a great boost to the club’s finances and help with financial fair play.

Additionally, the player would be offered a salary far higher than his current one — which is among the lowest in the roster pending a contract review — aiming to secure his approval for the transfer.

According to 365Scores, the interest in Casadó marks a turning point in the Saudi league’s new recruitment strategy. The absolute priority now is to bring in young players with potential, moving away from the past policy of signing older, well-established European footballers. Casadó's profile fits this new approach perfectly.

Nevertheless, Arabia's intentions clash with the club's current plans for the player. As SPORT recently reported, Barça aims to renew Casadó’s contract before this season ends. There is no immediate urgency since his contract runs until 2028 but talks have already begun about the contract length and financial terms. Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, depending on his role under coach Flick.

Barça considers the midfielder an important part of their sporting plans despite his limited minutes this season (1,129). However, it cannot be ruled out that the player might reconsider his future if he does not achieve the protagonism he desires.

Unlike last season, number 17 has been at the bottom of the midfield rotation this campaign, and with the return of Pedri and Gavi from injuries, along with Bernal’s increased role, his position could weaken even further. The next four months will be key for his future, though for Marc, his number one objective remains succeeding at the club of his life.
