Raphinha has become a fundamental player for Barcelona under coach Hansi Flick, achieving remarkable statistics over the past two seasons. He leads the team both on the pitch and as a key link between the squad and the club.

Although the Brazilian midfielder has significant offers from Saudi Arabia, he expresses a strong wish to remain at Barça for the long term, practically for his entire career. He renewed his contract last year, but the deal is relatively short and with wages lower than the most recent renewals for some teammates.

Originally arriving at Barcelona with Deco as his agent, Raphinha now works without a traditional agent, managing affairs through trusted contacts. In meetings with interested parties, he consistently states his intention to stay at the club, but under improved terms that align with other essential players.

Barcelona is currently not planning to move on Raphinha’s contract during this season and expects the situation to remain stable after the 2026 World Cup. They signed Anthony Gordon, an attacker quite similar to Raphinha in space management, finishing, and defensive pressing. The club aims for both players to coexist this season.

Next summer, with just one year left on his deal, the financial offers from Saudi Arabia could become decisive for both Raphinha and Barcelona. A significant injury sustained while playing for Brazil has also hampered talks over a new contract.

Raphinha continues to be one of the team’s central figures, and the coaching staff clearly intends to maintain his place in the starting eleven for the 2026/27 season.
