Eric Garcia has been appointed as the new ambassador of the Barça Genuine Foundation, FC Barcelona's initiative dedicated to promoting football for people with intellectual disabilities.
The defender spent time training and engaging with the Genuine team players, boosting their morale and sharing motivation and energy. This project embodies the club’s social responsibility and its motto 'més que un club' — 'more than a club'.
Garcia takes over the ambassador role from Pedri, who previously supported the program. Before them, players like Ronald Araujo, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Piqué, as well as female team members Cata Coll, Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmatí and Mapi León served as ambassadors.
This initiative strengthens Barcelona's social impact by showing that the club’s mission goes beyond sports achievements, actively supporting inclusive projects that help athletes with special needs reach their potential.
