Club Career

Dani Olmo is a Spanish attacking midfielder whose career took him through several important European stages before he returned to FC Barcelona. According to the club’s official information, he came through La Masia but left the academy at a young age to continue his development with Dinamo Zagreb. Both the Croatian club and the Spanish federation have highlighted how decisive that period was in shaping him as a footballer. It was at Dinamo Zagreb that Olmo made his name at senior level. He became an important first-team player, won domestic trophies, and gained European experience before moving on to German football. Official RFEF material also noted that by Euro 2024 he had already spent several seasons with RB Leipzig, spoke fluent German and Croatian, and still carried clear traces of that Balkan footballing education. The next major chapter came with RB Leipzig. In Germany, Olmo established himself as one of the team’s most technical and versatile attacking players. On the club’s official site, he appeared regularly as one of the key names of several seasons, before bringing that period of his career to an end in the summer of 2024 ahead of his move to Barcelona. On 9 August 2024, Barcelona officially announced his return. The club confirmed that Olmo signed a deal for six seasons, until 30 June 2030. After a long journey through Croatia and Germany, he was back at the club where his football education had originally begun.
